Shooting White Limbo Tips ?

Get white opaque paper or fabric as your backdrop. You need to get the background well lit and give the subjects amply backlight to separate them from the background. Expose for the subjects.

If you can't get the background bright enough to go completely white then you can increase the whites in post and get it to blow-out.

Best thing to do would be to shoot some tests with your specific camera.

Hope this helps,
Andy

There's a video of it on DVD http://www.dvcreators.net/dv-enlightenment/

One thing that I would recommend is shooting your talent darker than you normally would, that way if you do lighten your highlights in post, you won't blow out all of the detail in your subject.

If you're using Final Cut Pro, it's amazing what you can do with the "Limit Effect" parameters in the Color Corrector 3-way.

One more free video worth checking out http://vimeo.com/789519

Don't forget about "Subtractive lighting" too.
Some folks just light the heck outta everything an it just looks..well....lit!
Watch this behind the scenes on the Apple Pro site to see how they use a black velour curtain (or black foam core) next to the subject to soak up some excess light and provide a bit of contrast to an otherwise "flat" look. http://www.apple.com/pro/profiles/wisdom/video4.html

BTW, you might notice that all of the video for Andrew Zuckerman's Wisdom project was shot with the HVX 200

I'll say, if you can blow out the BG or get it to where you want it with lighting in camera, it will look a lot better then trying to bring the whites up in post.
