I'll shoot some kind of instruction clip (like tutorial)
for portable mp3 recorder next week.

one of it's advantage is handy size and easy to control.
so I want shoot it's small lcd display CU while control it's buttons for menu tree & how to use functions.

but it's too small and light. it's not easy to fix it for shoot.

Is there any good idea or similar experience?

Yes, rent a snorkel lens, it will make the end result much, much better than anything you can do without it.

You don't say what kind of camera you are using but you can probably get this one. I have rented the bigger version on the Varicam for a Sundance doc I produced and it worked very well to shoot the keys of a typewriter hitting the paper from about 3" away.
