Shooting progressive

Hi I'm new here and was wondering if anyone has any advice, or can direct me to a decent tutorial/guide on shooting progressive scan video:

I have recently bought a DVX100b to shoot a documentary with, and have been playing with it over the past few days, shooting some bmx riding and random nature stuff in progressive. In some cases shots looked nice and had that "filmic" quality, while others just seemed to look plain wrong.

I have pretty much only used interlaced dvcam workhorses like the pd150 and dsr570 in the past, and as such, am shooting in the way which is familiar to me, which doesn't seem to fly when using progressive. The whole process seems a lot less forgiving and fundamentayly different somehow, if any one could point me in the direction of some decent advice or has any of there own it would be greatly appreciated.
