Shooting outside when it's cloudy/snowing...

I'm not talking about "blizzard" conditons, but has anyone ever used their DVX for exterior shots when it's cloudy & snowy out there?

as a precaution with any camera put some kind of cover or "DVX poncho" over it. if the snow hits it, melts, and gets inside, you're in for a heap of trouble.

get a really big Ziploc bag..put camera in...make hole just big enuff for lens to stick out.

just clean lens when finished.

Yar... I had a rain slicker, and I also had an assistant follow me with an umbrella. If you are shooting, and there is a fairly good change of rain, I would suggest getting a 4x4 or a 6x6 frame, and a grifflon reflector, which also works as a rain tarp. Just set it up, and pump it up in the air a bit, and you can always run under it with your camera to keep it safe. Better safe than sorry.

What should I do for lighting? We'll be shooting in the afternoon - hand held mostly - and according to expected weather forecasts, it's supposed to snow lightly...which most likely means no good sunlight to use to our advantage...

Thanks for the tips/advice!

Ahh, grey overcast skies will give you some truly beautiful images, all you need maybe, will be a reflector for some fill. And snow falling! You will really like the look.
