hi there, technical question for you all on a documentary shoot
We'll be following a person as they get onto a bus from a bus-stop, probably in very bright sunlight, then following them through the crowded bus, all in the same shot. We're using a Sony Z1U. The sunlight would be bright enough outside that we would need to use one of the on-camera ND filters, but they would probably darken the image too much inside the bus. We'll probably have to leave the exposure on automatic, as coordinating not falling on our butts while getting on the bus and manually tweaking the iris control at the same time will be far too tricky. Any suggestions for this shot? We can't use shot transition as the bus lighting will be too random - it's not a set-up shot and we'll be choosing a random passenger getting on a random bus. Switching off the ND filter would generate too strong a jump in the auto-exposure. Maybe we should use an on camera light? Any suggestions very welcome - Greg
