Shooting on HDV and need a good capturing device

We shoot in house on 2 Canon XH A1's and thus we record everything on tape and to and HDV format. We do not like to use the cameras to capture the video as we know this is bad for the video head, however, we will plan to upgrade to tapeless one day so we don't want to put too much down on an already outdated VTR for MiniDV tapes.

What would you guys recommend as a good and reasonably priced capturing device?

P.S. I am also looking to use the Dlink DNS 323 NAS system http://www.dlink.com/products/?pid=509 to edit off of and three systems editing HDV will be utilizing this drive. Is this recommended or does anyone have a more reasonable alternative for centralized editing of files?

If you're just looking to capture with it, you can find used HV20s in the $300 ballpark. Makes a handy C-cam when necessary as well.

ive been using my canon xh-a1 to film and capture from xh-a1 to pc using firewire for over 2 years without any problems. i just make sure to use the same tape brands since no oil mixing will occur. ive read some feedback of this question a couple months ago saying that your head will be fine. i was going to buy a canon hdv 20 like 4100xpb said to do but dont think its even necessary. Ill sell the cam long before the heads go.
