shooting on a stage (stage lighting as well)

tomorrow i will be filming a 4 minute silent overture for a play being conducted at a hall here on campus. it will basically incorporate a bunch of sweeping shots and closeups which will be edited together to introduce major characters.

we're only using one set piece which I haven't seen yet - also, the lighting will be rudimentarily set by the a light tech tomorrow. unfortunately, the actual lighting designer (who is hired to come in and using the stage overhead lights, design the lighting for every scene) doesn't come in until a week before the production - so the lighting won't be perfect, but it should be sufficient for my needs.

the camera will be on the actual stage, and i'm shooting close so as to provide a basic illusion that we're in real life, and not on a stage (so the camera isn't set in the audience lanes far back, capturing everything). i have seen the stage barebones, and i would describe the overall ambient lighting and color as warm with overall strong red and brown hues everywhere.

given this situation, can you guys recommend any tips for filming this? this will be a totally new experience for me (shooting a stage). shoot i bother white balancing? using any specific color temps, et c?

oh, i should also mention that the finalized video will be projected onto a large screen over the stage before the play - so given the viewing conditions, any other shooting mode suggestions? squeeze, letterbox, etc... the projected screen should soften the video i'm hoping and may hide any "video" artifacts.

yes white balance to the stage lights that are supposed to be white. then the other colors hould be what they are supposed to be when they are on. definitly dont use auto whtie balance and try to make all the stage lighting white. .. again just balnce to the "white" lighting fo rthe stage, and let the other colors fall where they are supposed to. if the production was supposed to look al white they would just use all white, but nmy guess is theyll use alot of colored lights. and have fun + dont trip
