Shooting on a beach - Sandproofing.

Hi,

Im shooting on a beach in the UK for three days next week. Im slightly worried about all my equipment and I need to embark on some serious sand-proofing to ensure that all my gear still works at the end of the shoot.

Ive got a camera. SGpro, lenses, mattebox and firestore to sandproof, and ive also got my steasicam to sandproof.

Any ideas about how to do this? Im going to use PVC tape to tape over all the seems on the SGpro and im going to cover up the microphone on the camera. I have a large ammount of layflat plastic tubing, so I was thinking I could slide the whole camera inside this tubing, tie one end off at the lens and t he other end off around the viewfinder. We have a 7 inch feild monitor so we dont need the flip out one.

As for steadicam, im primarily worried about the arm bearings and the gimbal. Getting sand in that gimbal would realllly annoy me.

Since its going to be off the ground, i should probably just have a clean hands policty and make sure no one touches it unless their hands are sand free. Im going to put the arm in some layflat tubing anyway which should stop wind-blown particles getting stuck in the bearings.

Anything else I should think of?
