shooting Mini 35 without ground glass

Has anybody tried shooting with their Mini 35 with out the ground glass?
I have a brevis and I am going to give it a try tomorrow.

I really like the depth of field but sometimes don't like the look that the
ground glass gives.

Any suggestions or ideas?

You will likely get a porthole with a very distorted image in the middle.

The problem with doing this is you now have two things to focus. You cant focus the cameras own lens on anything, and you have to focus the manual lens aswell. I tried this and it was a total failure....

Id be interested to see if you can make it work though...

thats basically the whole idea behind the adapters. if such were the case than many people woulld be making say a nikon mount to 72mm thread adapter with no GG for next to nothing.

Yeah.

Will not work. You need a GG or a CCD Imaging sensor exactly at the place where the GG ist placed in your Adapter. Sorry to disappoint you

Oh boy... The GG is the most important element of the adapter. Without it you have no image to capture. What would you accomplish without it, well, nothing. Make sure to post some footage of your experiment for all of us to see, please!
