Okay....I have a shot that begins inside and then goes outside.all in one shot.My question is.Is there going to be a drastic change in color when going outside if I don't use daylight bulbs inside.I did a test of this a while ago but the inside was lit with flourecents and there was not a noticable difference.

thanks

Re: .shooting inside to outside

there will be a difference.. but there is supposed to be one. You more need to have a iris puller to match light levels unless you really hotbox the interiors. If you do use Kinos with 56k bulbs or a HMI the change will be less obvious, but like I said, there is supposed to be one. You can anicipate the difference by establishing the color difference by having them pass by a window with an HMI shining in from the outside behind some diffussion.

Shouldn't you put the white balance on the camera in preset for a shot like that where your going from indoors to outdoors in one shot?

Re: .shooting inside to outside

I just try two different shots.

One in which is described and another for safety where you intercut.

Re: .shooting inside to outside

This is a difficult shot to do, because of the color temperature, and light intensity changes, and when you see it in a movie, they almost always light the interiors with daylight balanced light (a lot of it if they want to match the intensity of the exterior) Sometimes they'll ride the iris when going outside, but they'll almost always match the color temperature. With other DV cameras, you could try leaving the white balance on auto, and it will automatically adjust to the color temperature change on the fly, but I haven't tried this with the DVX.
