shooting in the rain help

got a shoot tommorow and the forcast is pretty nasty as far as rain goes. which is a good thing for the final day of shooting for my film, I have a petrol raincover but it dosnt seem like it will prevent rain from coming in. does anyone have any tips or ideas they may could throw at me that could be useful? thanks

what about the audio though? wouldnt the umbrealla effect the sound when the rain hits?

So the actors will be standing in the rain?

But no the rain will be smashing into everything so I doubt you will pickup the sound of rain hitting the umbrella as unnatural. Tough shoot, good luck.

better solution to the umbrella is to get some kind of tarp up on a large silk frame and get it as high as you can from the mic but keeping it still covering. The umbrella could be very noticeable.

make sure that tarp isnt level so the water can run off. or u'll be catching all that water till.....well yah :)

Camping store

try hitting up a camping store and getting a waterproof jacket you can afford to cut up or gaff the hell out of for your mics. as far as the camera, like the lady said a big umbrella. I have used trash bags along with a rain cover in the past, just make surs to bring duct tape to tape down all the loose bag so a wind doesnt whip a bunch of water onto your lens. Umbrelas from wallmart should work, they have giant sun umbrellas that have C clamp type attachments you can attach to your sand chair, just clamp it to your tripod if its not windy, if it is bring a c-stand or a helper. I could probably write a essay about shooting in bad weather haha good luck and hope these few tips help.
