whats your thoughts on using an SD monitor on set for an HD shoot? i have a shoot approaching. the finishing format will be for online using a smaller aspect ration than HD's. Is there anything i should worry about?

smaller aspect ratio, or smaller resolution than HD? SD monitor will be 601 not 709 color space (not a huge difference but a difference), still helpful for exposure checking (depending on the accuracy of the downconversion equipment), and only slightly helpful if you're using it to pull focus (since SD can't show all the detail of HD). My advice - just get an HD monitor on set and pony up - I've seen too much overexposed, out of focus HD to recommend any other path for any serious/commercial
