Shooting for branded content

*This is photography based

Suppose you are hired to shoot content for a brand (let's say its apparel).
The brand then hires you as a freelance photographer for their campaign.
*The brand isn't a BIG brand, so they are hiring freelancers directly themselves and not photographers through agencies.

The question is, does the brand get the RAW photos, or do you only send them the edited photos?
And how many do they get? - Do you offer them a fixed number per service and offer to sell additional photos as requested, or do they get an unlimited number?

When shooting for large brands, how is this arranged?
How would you quote this?

Everyone works differently.

But these days, photographers [and videographers] have limited negotiation pull because they are unfortunately a dime-a-dozen. (When companies are reaching out to you to work with them that's when you know you can negotiate whatever you would like.)

As far as the post workflow, if the company/brand is not aware of what a final product entails (color grading/cropping), you'll have to explain it to them (and its delivery). Most companies would like a convenient and straightforward line of communication, and receive dozens of options to choose from (sometimes preferably in a gallery that you would set up).

Others simply would like the RAW photos and their editors or in-house people will do the rest of the work.

I'd discourage you from suggesting any limit to photos unless you're in a position to be declined. At the end of the day, most people are reasonable if you provide a high-quality product. As you continue to work with the brand, you'd learn more about them and improve your relationship (including rates, hours, expectations, etc).
