Does anyone have any tips or tricks for shooting day for night? I've no experience of this so any advice would be appreciated.

thanks Chris, I checked that out. I'm no after effects man but I could rig up something to kill the sky with a filter like they do in after effects. I'm really looking for in camera adjustment advice, and actually it looks like I'll be shooting on an XL2 now. Anyone any thoughts.

if your shooting indoors....white balance your camera to a candle on a wall or something white.

then zoom out and all the window light will be blue. It's really cool and it looks like night. Shoot around maybe 4:30 or 5pm in the evening. It'll pass.

I would try both and see what works well. Andrew's tutorials are great and pretty easy to follow. On the other hand, setting the scene to shoot it can work to, but you already know. Just try a short clip on each.

Yeah, those are awesome tutorials.

I would emphasize one important thing Andrew points out - Shoot in as low of light or flat of shadows as possible if you're going to go D4N in post.
