Shooting a street night scene.

I have to film many night scenes in a street. What is the secret to lighting this without making it appear daylight yet keeping good light?

Easiest way is to replicate street lights. lots of C stands with 1k-2k lights with CTO's on them. Get creative. with other motivated lights like car lights and lights from stores.

Or u could daylight balance ur camera and use tungsten light sources for street lights (tungsten balance wud make it look orange) if u dont want to CTO ur lights and use daylight balanced lights to light ur subjects. Used gelled lights for the other stuff...like Neon storelights car lights ect. I guess there are many ways to experiment given the type of mood u want.

remember that every light should be motivated. So dont put random spot lights on your talent. It has to make sense.

Correct me if I'm wrong: Isn't the idea to use a Giant HMI for moonlight and Tungsten for all other motivated sources? Isn't it also necessay to keep the background dark? What about the streen wet? They always wet the streen on a night scene.
