Shooting a feature in 1080i 50i PAL ?

I'm shooting in Hollywood but my movie is probably going to be sold to European buyers. So I'm thinking of shooting it in PAL. I'm going to edit on FCP 5.04 and my camera will be the Sony Z1U, which shoots in PAL as well as NTSC.

What should I be looking for? Thanks for your help.

If you go PAL, you're probably going to want to convert to 25p -- so don't handle the camera like you're shooting 50i. Handle it like you're shooting 25p. Like 24p, this means sloooow camera movements -- pans, tilts, dollies, zooms -- else you may end up with unpleasant surprises once you make the conversion.

The same, of course, is true, and moreso, if you shoot 60i and convert to 24p.

So aside from that it sounds like working in 25 fps PAL will not pose a problem with converting to NTSC later?

Is HDV 1080i 50i Standard Def or Hi Def?

Ok, will I be able to export a 25 fps PAL master from the 1080i 50i? would it be 25p?
