Shooting a Documentary in Italy...

I am in the early stages of prepping for a documentary shoot in Italy! I am very excited but nervous at the same time. Should I be getting insurance? What experience do you guys have here? I did a little research on line and found a company that offer it here:

The information sounds good but I wanted an opinion from an actual filmmaker who has had experience. Have you used this company and/or did you even get insurance at all? What do you recommend?

Thanks!
Adam

Should I be getting insurance?
Unless the only gear you have is a t2i and a couple Nikon lenses, then absofreakinglutely you should have insurance. How much and with whom is the real question. Someone with more experience can chime in on that.
It sounds like a great opportunity and not to dampen it for you, but I've seen too many people/crews shoot outside their comfort zone of home and make a dumb mistake like leaving their gear in the van "for a few minutes" to come back to a smashed window and no more gear. Most places you go will be perfectly safe, but since it's not your home your sense of when or where that one little thing that isn't right won't be as finely calibrated. You need to be a little paranoid, not too much, but just enough to make sure you don't get jacked. Drill it into everyone's head that the gear never, and I mean never, like really never gets left alone, not even for a minute.
