Shooting a Cat Clinic Commercial today. Need advice.

I'm shooting a commercial for a Cat Clinic today and I have no idea how to shoot animals. They want to show Cats doing cute stuff, staff holding cats, Narrator holding a cat, etc. How do I not spook the cats? do I use china balls or break out the Lowel kit? Should I zoom in and keep the camera as far away from the cat as possible? I just got the gig yesterday, last minute thing as a favor for a friend.

Thanks in advance.

I actually shoot cats often. It's part of a show that I do. Normally they are actually pretty curious so they aren't very scared. The best piece of advice I can give is no quick sudden movements or loud noises. Otherwise normal shoot day. And watch your cases, they like those.

Thanks for the advice. A member here and his equipment has been the victim of cat pee. I will keep them closed for sure. thanks again.

From imdb.com

"To get Jones the cat react fearfully to the descending Alien, a German Shepherd was placed in front of him with a screen between the two, so the cat wouldn't see it at first, and came over. The screen was then suddenly removed to make Jones stop, and start hissing."

I think James Cameron said he just held another cat close to Jones the cat in Aliens to make it depict that hostile hiss.

Sorry, that's the only cat/film related info I know.
