Shoot widescreen?

Hi all. Love the forums.

I have my first feature film coming up in January/February. I am taking a gander at the DVX100a. All I've read has basically convinced me of it's capabilities. My only worry is shooting widescreen. I really want to avoid full frame at all costs, but I read you lose lot of resolution when doing this with the 1000a. What is the consensus here in regards to shooting widescreen vs full screen with the dvx? Is the quality that bad? What of the anamorphic adapter?

I really think the new Panny camera is perfect for all my needs, but I can't absorb the $6000 price tag right now. What are my options?

For my ZombieFest entry, I'm shooting squeeze mode. So far, I'm really happy with the image quality. I wouldn't recommend it for a film out, but who am I kidding... a film out is not in my immediate future (if ever).

If the HVX really will fit all of your needs have you considered renting one? It would/could be a lot cheaper then buying. Also check out the uprezing 4:3 to 16:9 stickey for another method of getting what you are after, could be another solution for you.
