Timur, how heavy is this mattebox compared to the Redrock?

It is lighter, but it's a lot smaller. It's more in the size range of the obox, chroziel, etc. the redrock is more in the studio mattebox class.

nice to know, i thought they were almost the same size since they seem very similar in the overall design

Its similar to the redrock. Which is to say very good considering the price. Infact, I thiink its better built than it has to be.

I must say that it's very tempting to get one like that now that I've searched and read a bit more about it!
I was on the market for a new mattebox, with a swing-away function and as it's a hobby, my budget was a bit limited. I'm glad I found your review and more information about it. It seems that I'm set to get this model over the others, especially for all the features and the price range!
