doesn't seem to be much of a choice here in Australia... but i have narrowed it down to the following mounts and would like opinions...

Azden SMH1

Audiotechnica AT8415
http://www.musicianswarehouse.com.au/default.aspx?Pg=21&ProductCode=AT8415

my problem - these stores are either online or interstate so I am able unable to test the sturdiness or even if they would fit (but by the specs i think they will)...

The other thing is that I read on the forum that people have recommended K-TEK gaskets for additional strength for the AT8415 but can't seem to find any here and was wandering if it is required for my config.

Main uses - to put on horse shoe and use as boom - I am leaning more towards the AT8415 because it seems more flexible in terms of being able to be rotated etc...for boom use.

thx for the reply wabbit - the only issue i see with that mount is that there is no way i can mount it on the camera..

i have used the at-8415 for over a year with great results.

the one thing is you need to change the stock rubber bands with the ksus ones which both b&h and evs sell/recommend.

i had to get a new shockmount for my new senn 416 and i went with the at-8415 again with the ksus rubber bands.

call rush at evsonline. he gave me a great deal on the at-8415 w/ksus mounts and of course a great deal on the sennheiser 416 mic!

Actually, they make funky little $5 or so hotshoe adaptors. Will work with any standard boom thread. Don't have a link but if you poke around, you can find one.

again thx guys - ill have a look arnd - being in Australia kinda makes getting things redily available in US kinda hard ..
