I finally decided to purchase the Sanken cs3e. (For films and commercials)
I understand the ideal situation would be to have a hyper for indoors and a shotgun for out.. but since i dont want to buy mediocre mics, and im still on a limited budget, I would rather buy one GREAT mic, than two mediocre ones.
I thought the CS3e would be perfect since i heard it also does interiors well.
Anyway, my question is concerning the shock mount. I dont want to invest in a zeppelin or an expensive blimp outfit just yet.. so i just want to get a decent shock mount that can be used both indoors and out accompanied with a wind screen. Is the below unit good or should i go with a shock mount specifically designed for the CS3e (B and H sells one) and buy a seperate windscreen?
The reason i ask is because i heard the CS3e, although a top notch mic, has a bit more self noise than some others.
