Shock mount attachment

Hello, fellow DVX'ers. Just got my dvx this past week and i instantely fell in love. Thanks for all the help fom u people for my decision. This is my first post and it concerns attaching a shock mount to the dvx. It came with my azden sgm-1x and I dont like to attach it to the shoe accessory on top of the handle because it is too high from the lens and the shot. Is the microphone holder that came with the dvx alright to use. Is it a shock mount? I can't tell. Thanks.

it's not a shock mount and it's suitable to hold the mic without getting any thumps in the audio just as long as you don't bump it around.
