Shipping cost Query?

Ok
Here is the situation, I bought some stands off ebay, the guy is in Canada as well and wants 50 USD to ship them (3 stands). I politely email him asking why the large amount, as I have had larger things shipped from the southern states (international fees) for around 30USD. He replies that he will paypal me the difference back. I ask one more time to reconsider the hefty fee with basically the same response back. Am I right to be concerned to this whole situation. It just does not smell right to me.

"I am not Crazy.I am not Crazy.I am not Crazy.I am not Crazy.I am not Crazy.I am not Crazy.I am not Crazy.I am not Crazy."

It's comments like that which make us think you are crazy. But we'll forgive you. Just as long as you're not writing "I am not crazy!", in large red letters, on your bedroom wall. FYI: Most women don't like to see that when they enter a bedroom. ;)

Re: Shipping cost Query?

Prairieboy, as bizarre as it sounds, it's more expensive to send a package in Canada, than it is to send the identical package to the US or the UK. It's close to double.

Good thing my wife is blind. ::)

Alright getting strange. Sometimes you just have to let it out PK. It has been a very long week, with no rest in sight for at least another week. I will do my best to not scare the others.

Re: Shipping cost Query?

Yeah, any international shipment is going to acquire some duty or customs or border-crossing(?) fees or whatever they call them... I really don't know.

Re: Shipping cost Query?

Well, since epal and PayBay are charging more to the sellers now, a lot of them will be upping the "shipping" costs...which do not figure into what the websites get from the transaction.

Expect to see a lot of high shipping costs from now on...and lower sale prices.
