I've sold off most of my gear so I can pick up a Canon 60D, so the only camera I have right now is a 10 year old Sony Digital8 (DV on Hi8 tapes) that does surprisingly well for itself.
I popped into London Drugs to pick up some tapes for it, and hot dog, 2-packs of Fuji Pro tapes are on sale for $4 a pack. I snag three of them, and am about to head to the cashier when I see one of the remaining packs I uncovered has a coupon on it, something for McDonald's.
I'm all for the free stuff, so I swap out one of my couponless packs for that one. I dig around but can't find any others with the coupon. "Oh well," I think and wander off to the cashier and pay for the tapes.
I take a seat outside the store and unwrap the tapes to stuff into my pack, saving the coupon for last. It's a little folded square of paper, and as I unfold it I am excited to see the words "FREE MCFLURRY." There's a McD's right around the corner, so I'm all set I figure.
But my heart sinks as I read a little further - down at the bottom is the expiry date, and alas it has passed. For this coupon expired DECEMBER 31st, 2006.
