sheap fig8 mic for MSstereo

I have an senheizer K6 mic. Now I want to test MS stereo, but the only sheap fig8mics I find, is for studio use. I their any mics out ther thats cheap, and have the same form/look as my K6, so I can fit it in my zeppelin?

Depends on how you define "cheap." You can get an AKG Blueline SE300B power module with a CK94 fig 8 capsule for about $825 from B&H. Remember that you need to fit BOTH the cardioid and the fig 8 mics into the zep for M/S techniques. M/S is a conicident mic technique and the two mics need to be almost touching each other.
 
The fig-8 pattern is one of the more difficult to design and tend to be the more expensive.

I don't know of any cheap ones.
 
I figured that. I really like the idea of M/S stereo. The problem is that you can find a decent fig 8 mic for around $200-300 (that is cheap for me) but they are in the wrong format, only for studio use, and that sad, because then I can't fit it in my zeppelin, even if I build a special one, it wouldn't work I guess. And I can't afford a mic for almost $900, just to try something out.

Steve your on the wrong track he wants a Sheap mic not a cheap mic. ;~)

As other said I don't think there are any cheap ones not even cheap bahhhh,d ones.

I use a pair of Oktava's in a zeppelin for FX recording and a pair high and wide for concerts. I have a lot of mics but that's what I would normally use. If you want a tighter smaller package you can get a pair of the Neumann collet power units and a pair of cardioid capsules and you can get a stereo pair in a zep that looks like a big furry softball. Works great and looks very un-mic-like, which can be a big plus sometimes.

ok, thanks. Can you explain a little more of what the octavs and FX recording is?
My strongest side isn't sound. And what is the neumann collet power stuff? If you have, bring in an URL.
 
The AKG Blueline figure eight head mic is actually listed as 825, but when you add it to your cart it is reduced to something like 500 I believe. Significant difference. Just to let you know.

Though we actually use two cardioids in an XY pair instead of this M/S pair.

Um Oktava's... if you search this site you'll get about a million hits. Short small capsule condenser mics. Used as an X/Y pair inside a zeppelin.

FX recording, recording everything you hear on screen except dialog music and Foley. Cars, doors gunshots, sirens all kinds of ambiances. Strange stuff for design work, contact mics, laves in odd places, undersides of bridges, tire sounds. You name it and I have probably recorded at some time (or wish I had!).
