Basic question:
My teenage daughter has a AG HMC40. She find the camera heavy and has difficulty getting reasonably steady shots w/o a tripod. What high school kid can carry around a tripod all the time? Any hints?

You might want to try a monopod. They are not perfect, but they are light weight and pretty unobtrusive.
