hey guys, first time poster here =) very happy to find this forum, also got my dvx100b on the way very excited!

anyway I have bunch of clips in shake for a dvd reel, what is the best work to get the best quality from shake to FCP and to dvdsp? For now, I am resizing the clips I have in shake to 720/480 (keeping the same aspect ratio) then out put with QT dv ntsc codec and in the options I chose best quality, 16:9 and progressive. I then import to FCP and render them out as mpeg2 for dvdsp. are the settings/codec correct? or how can I further improve the quality of DVD I am trying to burn. looking for any advice.

cheers~

If you don't want to take a hit in the quality, I would render to something like Animation or ProRes from Shake. On my system at least, Shake will read ProRes fine as a source file but it doesn't always work rendering into it, so I end up using Animation.

Animation is a lossless codec and yields excellent quality when displayed on monitors, however if I intend to import to FCP, don't I need to use the dvntsc codec? or other codecs will work?
