I've seen the Ginger HDR plugin but have not played with it. I'm a little confused on the term tone mapping. I'm talking about tone mapping a single image/shot not using multiple image HDR (I understand that). Seems to me the shadow/highlight effect is tone mapping - it sure gives the same ugly byproducts (halos) if overused... but I must be wrong?
