Hello guys,

We had the pleasure of having a loan of the FX1 last week, so we decided this was a great opportunity to test drive it with the new SGpro Revision 2. Revision 2 of the SGpro proves to be much better suited to the HD format, utilizing a new high quality, fully anti reflection coated achromat thats actually custom designed and made for the purpose, new condenser lens and new GG.

This footage should be of particular interest to the HVX200 users, to get an idea of how the SGpro handles HD.

First thing we did was to shoot a res chart. This was with a 50mm F1.4 lens set to F4, and the FX1 set to F2 (warning its a 6MB file).

We went out and shot some footage with the setup. There are 4 scenes, but i've only uploaded the first. Its a scene in a bar, all natural light.

All of the footage was shot in Cineframe25 mode.


I will be rendering and uploading the other 2 scenes tonight, and will post ASAP. The 2 other scenes are all exterior.

I would love to know your opinions on the footage.
 
It's very sharp!! No ca, no distortion and no flickering as i can see.
I am sure that if the aperture wasn't wide open in some shots, it would be even better.

How much is the asking price for the Rev.2?
Still 450?
And will you also offer rods, followfocus aso?

HVX200 tests will be happening next month. Very excited about this, the HVX is clearly a much better cam then the FX1.

Yes, the Rev.2 is £450.

No, its smaller. The achromat is designed to hit the sweetspot, too big and that becomes a problem to (thicker glass).

Saying that, the '72mm HD achromats' out there are 72mm 'threads' but not too sure of the actuall diameter of the glass.

I've been putting together a 35mm adapter using ideas from the DIY sticky and I'm at the point where I might just give up and buy one.

What is the cost in US Dollars? How much is shipping? Are they available now? I couldn't get that section of your site to work.

P.S. - I am planning on upgrading to the HVX200, but I have a DVX100a for now.

Is the package for the HVX 200 £450 as well? Does that included everything we need to get it working straight with the HVX?

As far as i know, SGpro r.2 costs the same £450 for all videocameras and include everything (the main SGpro unit, rods and 1 lens mount) you need to get it working, except the lense(s) ofcourse.

Wayne correct me if i am wrong :)
 
Hi guys,

Please email or PM me for details on pricing. I like to respect the Moderators and rules and keep that away from the thread.

The support's base plate is adjustable left/right and also in height via the provided shims. The rear of the SGpro is 72mm thread, so you would need a step ring for anything other then 72mmm (HVX200).

Hehe, yep. We are in the process of doing it now. Just finished the product photos and also collecting footage for the examples section. So the order section will be finished soon. Also need to fix the gallery page, seems not to work once uploaded.
