Sgpro rev 3 and shoulder mounts?

I will soon be recieving the sgpro rev 3(w/the DVX100B) and I'm wondering if any has any good suggestions on how effective shoulder mounts are in achieving steady shots?

I have a glidecam2000 but I think thats going to be too heavy. I have a tripod as well but would like to move around when shooting a bit more.

I'm thinking a shoulder mount would be good for a couple low-budget music videos I was going to do. Will it be difficult to focus the sgpro while using the shoulder mount? And am I going to have to use a external monitor to focus?

Any information is greatly appreciated!
Thanks guys!

I believe the sgpro would be too heavy of a setup and was not intended to be used in a steadycam type shooting. I was contemplating getting the brevis in addition to my sgpro for this purpose. but then I chose to just shoot using the stock lens on my glidecam. I am looking into the merlin system since I have heard very good reviews by people who have used them. In fact I just saw a demo dvd on it and it is less cumbersome than my glidecam.

I think you'd need something a little more robust than the glidecam. I definitely think a dv rig pro can handle it, Danny and the team modified it for 35mm setups and if you go to the rigs section of redrock's forum you'll see lots of shoulder mount set ups. I have my Brevis on my DV rig and found the need to get my ass back in the gym:)

I intend to use my glidecam without the 35mm setup..since I would be running a lot with camera and the autofocus in the stock lens works fine for my purposes. If I were to use a 35mm setup then I would look into get the whole steadycam setup with vest and arm to help distribute the weight to my body vs to my wrist. PS to help support the wrist I use a old robby's support wrist that bowlers use and has a metal bracket to keep the wrist from getting fatiqued from the weight of the camera and glidecam 2000.

Yeah just get a good rig. I had a lower tier steady set up which was fine for the camera itself (an XL2 at the time), but with the Letus flip and lenses it was a no go.
