Edit:
Now with footage: http://www.vimeo.com/716765

Just moved back to the city I love and I finally have some spare-time to go shooting once in a while. Expect more from me in the near future.

A couple of grabs from today. No specific project, just wanted to share something.

Canon XH-A1 / SGpro.R3 / Contax.Zeiss 50 1.4
Focusing done using just the XH-A1 LCD >_<

Man. XH-A1 why couldn't you have been AVC-HD? =\

The camera's image is amazing when paired with the SGpro or Letus. Very nice grabs!

I've given the sgpro another shot after sailing off the letus extreme, and the canon a1 with the sgpro produces the best looking image out of the two in my opinion. The image is actualy unreal in terms of that filmic bokeh and almost as sharp as the extreme. Canon should be kissed in the mouth for such an amazing cam.

So did you use the SGflip or did you hack your LCD?

Will also post some footage with a similar combo: xh-a1, SGpro rev.2, SGflip and Nikon lenses.

I second that kiss in the mouth!

I'd be happier if it had a better LCD with a flip function isntead of the toy one it has.

I'm going to take a gander and say that this is non-flipped. I can't fully tell because the edges are suppose to be out of focus since they aren't on the same plane

Thanks everyone for the nice comments.

*footage* :)

I'll edit/upload some this week-end.

Agree.

-And then Canon should be kicked in the ass for seemingly abandoning the camera and not releasing a firmware update.

I had my eyes surgically flipped.

Nah, neither actually. I get by without for now - saving for an external monitor.

Very nice grabs:)

Though one thing that bugs me with the XH-A1 is that the colors always seem to be a bit off..
I would probably CC them a bit to push the contrast and saturation..

But, other than that.. very, very nice:)

Hard to fault the A1 - it's highly customizable, you can get the colors pretty much any way you want. Blame me instead :)

I'll post some CC'ed footage this week-end.
