it may work, it just depends on the filter thread sizes and gettign the neccesary step up/down rings. no reason why it shouldntwork. but i see no reason to swap out the Brevis achromat. it seems to do its job well.
Vinnie, Timur (and thanks for that btw) is correct. Our 72mm achromats are something that we're very proud of and worked long and hard to get right. Our rejection rate is pretty much zero as the surface and coatings have been coming from the factory to us in perfect shape. Their properties with respect to spherical and chromatic aberration would compare as good, or better than anything out there. The single two largest issues that would create soft edges (and this would apply to any adapter out there!) are the camera's aperture setting, and the 35mm lens' aperture setting. With CF1L (assuming DVX/HVX sized camera), properly tuned oscillation, and optimum settings on your lenses, footage should be very crisp from the Brevis.
Just got my SG Pro 3. Excellent. Sharp. No vignetting, visible grain, and built like a tank. Unlike some adaptors, it has no wobbles in the mount, straight and image centered alignment, industrial build and baseplate fitted for your camera. Another feature that rocks is that battery pod used two double AA's. No internal batt. I just use rechargable AA's. Great idea. Easy to build. Comes with a baseplate but I ended up using my Zacuto because I like to hang things off the rear to help balance. SG rods only go out the front. But I'm sure you can find a good balance as it has mounting holes along the whole length. I'll be using my Zacuto for any adaptor jobs and the SG Pro baseplate for non-adaptor gigs.
