SGblade or Redrock micro encore

Hello.

Which one is better for the HPX170? Are there any comparisons online?

I don't know which one to chose. I read a lot about the blade and like what I have seen so far but now I have a good offer for the Redrock.

Thanks for helping me out.

I can't speak for the Redrock but I can say that I have the blade and its fantastic.

2nd the SGBlade. I've used the old redrock and it was great. I'm sure the encore is even better but the Blade is just..... THE BLADE.

I had the redrock for about six months and just decided last week to get the blade. I'm happy I made the change.

I'm wondering about adding a "blade to our arsenal, and we have the Redrock m2 Encore. To those comparing: do you have the latest Encore version, or the old M2? How is edge-to-edge on an Ex1? What do you find is better with the Blade?

Thanks for your help. I think I will save a little bit more money and go for the blade in the next months.

The M2e compared to the original M2 are very very different. The m2e is superior is many ways to its predecessor. I've never used an SGPro so I'm only talking in terms of the Redrock setup.

SGBlade! Best bokeh, best edge to edge sharpness.
If you want your footage to look like it was shot through a coke bottle, go for the Encore.

It would be nice if people who are making these suggestions say whether they've used both and especially if they've used them side by side. I've use the Blade and love it, but I haven't used an encore so I can't really tell you much.
Did the guy who made the coke bottle crack actually use one? It's even a little heavy handed as a description of the old redrock (though I understand the impulse) , but the Encore is supposed to be a big improvement.

I've used the original M2 and watched countless videos on the Encore. Yes, the Encore is a HUGE improvement, but it still doesn't touch the Blade, IMO.

Blade!

The SGBlade has different ground glass elements with different light loss and bokeh. One thing not mentioned often is each ground glass has its own motor. If I ever have a motor go out on me it's only a matter of switching out the GG (I have all three).

Build quality is fantastic! You can mount it snorkel up or down. It's surprisingly compact.

Best looking adapter IMO - if these things matter (other than the P+S Technik Mini-35 - I love the way those look).

Edge to edge is great (on my EX-1 with flip).

Price is very reasonable.

Customer service is outstanding!

The EX-1 and Blade with Canon mount is a great A-cam to my 7D (and I have the 7D available to change apertures).

It's a spinner like the M2 and the Letus Ultimate. So with the right GG you can stop down or get faster shutter speeds.

My 2 cents.
