AFTER MUCH...consideration, and research. the journey ends.

I've built my own...did tons of research on brands ... gotta go with the Letus Xtreme for my DVX100B... over the SG Pro.

Love the footage by Philip Bloom.

it all depends on what you need. For me it was the SGpro. The ability to stop down quite a bit and use faster shutter speeds made the SGpro a winner. Plus I like the image (bokeh) it produces better...

Glad you were able to settle. For me each day I swing from SG to Letus or Letus to SG. Maybe I'll just flip a coin and get it over with. :)

Post some shots when you get your gear.

Ho...

Letus looks nice but the SGpro with rails and a flip is well priced which is leading me there, i'm just waiting on them to release the updated rod unit for use with the Flip, then i'll order.

Your an idiot

The letus is a far in-superior to the SGpro. The image is always washed out and pale looking, the edge to edge is no good, you cant stop down too much or point it at the sky or you will see the ground glass, you have to be extra careful about getting dust ins inside it. Their rails system isnt standard ad it looks really weird the way the camera sits up on that pedestal thing, and it really is very ugly. The SG with the flip and focus is by far the best option if you are deciding between the letus and the SG.

Dont make such an investment and buy something crap.

Just my opinion though :-)

Did your feelings get hurt or something?

=\ It's an opinion and all... at least attempt linearity in your posts. The fact that you touched on the same point TWICE in ONE sentence leads me to believe that your opinion is probably the last thing anyone on these boards should be taking seriously.

Please, stop posting which adapter you're going to get and just buy one. The fact that you're leaving a post off with "Comments..." is pure baiting and isn't exactly ENCOURAGED.

Sure, start and end your comment with a smiley, that'll make people ignore your uninformed trolling comments. I've been following your posts and you have in fact never own a Letus Extreme and made your decision purely because you feel that the Letus looked "ugly." Great basis there. Btw, "in-superior" isn't a word.

Hm, I would invite you to download and watch any of Disjecta or Philip Bloom's footage that was shot with the Extreme, then come back here and justify that statement.

Every adapter has edge to edge issue to varying degree, simply because not every camera is identical; Letus just released an EX1 specific achromat for this very purpose.

The Letus unit is pretty much dust proof. My unit has been through a lot and no dust so far. It's not invulnerable, but there's no reason to expect it to be.

heir rails system isnt standard ad it looks really weird the way the camera sits up on that pedestal thing, and it really is very ugly.

What's a "standard" rail? I must be missing something here. The nature of the prism inside the unit require the Letus (and indeed all adapters with a flipped unit, including the SGpro and the Brevis) to be vertically offset. You either lower the unit with a double rail system like Zacuto or you raise the camera and the Letus. Plenty of people on here choose to take the DIY route and modify their existing rail along the same principles, are their rail ugly and "non standard" as well? For those of us who aren't so incline (or blessed with DIY abilities), the Le brothers have came out with a solution that allow us to make all the necessary adjustments. It is perfect? Nope. I would love to have it be all toolless. Does it work well at half the price of the Zacuto system? YES!

T The SG with the flip and focus is by far the best option if you are deciding between the letus and the SG.

Do I even need to note here that SGpro uses the same flip optic as the Letus?

To the OP, I agree with Kholi. Let's stop these "I'm getting a Letus, SGpro, A1, EX1, HVX..." threads. If you've already made your decisions, why ask for comments?

Exactly.
There are more than enough X vs. Y threads in this forum.

Here are just a few of them:
