I would like to share my method of how I apply grain to my video to help it out. Here is the video tutorial: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5V8FxDRMGvA
It works particularly well when you have banding in your footage. The grain seems to fill in the missing details and smooth out the gradation. If anyone knows the original creator of this method, could you let me know? I found it first on cinema5D.
