Sexy Beast

Yes I'm behind, 2001. Just watched Sexy Beast with Ben Kingsly and loved it. This film didn't make any real kind of splash in the pond as far as I can tell. Just wondering what you guys take on it was?

I saw it a couple of years ago. I don't remember it leaving much of an impression on me. After seeing it, I remember I was wondering what all the fuss was about. I don't know...maybe I need to see it again, but for me, it just wasn't a memorable movie.

Felt the exact same way.

The film was not anything to write home about for sure though I stll enjoyed it, but I was impresed by Kingley's performance, I mean after Gahndi and Schlindlers list I was totally amazed at this mans versitility.

I'd have to say, that is what struck me...Kingsley's ability to play such a vile character.

Yeah, I remember loving this movie too. I have it on my shelf, guess it's time to bust it out again and see...

Kingsley's performance made this movie. For me the entire flick is just an excuse to get that incredible character on screen.

All I remember from this movie is the word 'c*nt'.

haha. Kingsley was worth watching.

2001 was the year of the surreal rabbit between this flick and Donnie Darko -- I think there's another one I'm missing too.

I thought the whole thing was great. Kingsley was the most flashy character, to be sure, but Ray Winstone was wonderful. Great camerawork and editing. And Ian McShane...I remember thinking, "who is this awesome actor who I've never seen before?" Since then, of course, he has made a major splash in "Deadwood".

Curious...that weird montage in the middle right after the orgy scene...it seems like James Fox and Ian McShane are up to something pretty kinky...is that why McShane wants revenge? Because Fox knows too much about McShane's sexuality?

I just watched it again and am now really into it. It was something to write home about from beginning to end...Great film
