Severed hand

Hello everyone.

I thought I'd share my first attempt at a prosthetic. I had a great fun making this but a few things went wrong along the way.

I've also got a vlog of how I went about creating it if anyone's interested.

Everything from the wrist to finger tip.....great job. If this is to refer to a fresh amputation. If it is older......pale the colors out a bit more. Wrist....back......ummm.

There is not that much anatomy back there for that much meat and carnage. And like I always said on "Three Rivers"......more blood.

Thanks Doc.

Yeah I did think about removing some of the meaty parts but I needed it to hide the fact that I didn't have a bone and some of the silicone seams.

It's meant to of happened pretty recently. I left out the blood so that I could add it in when we actually shot the scene. I was going to use lots of fake blood and just let it drip of the end.

Would like to give a head a go next, it was fun to make.

thanks again

Oh no, no offense taken, I really appreciate the input from an expert. It just so happened that these were issues I know I have to think about more on my next project.

Thanks again Doc I really appreciate your help.

Hi Greeches.

I haven't worked with foam latex before, although there are a few step by step guides in the book I've got. I read through briefly and yeah it does seem to be more complicated.

I think what made this particularly easy was that I didn't need to worry about making loads of separate parts, like you would for say aged makeup. That will be my next mission.

Have you made many foam latex props?
