Setup for FCP using 720/24PN

I was wondering what was the proper setup for FCP when using 720/24PN (from P2 cards) and 480/24PA (from tape).

For 720/24pn

Easy setup

FORMAT: HD
RATE: All Rates
USE: DVCPRO HD 720p24

For 480/24pa
FORMAT: NTSC
RATE: All Rates
USE: DV/NTSC 24p (23.98) Advanced Pulldown Removal

Thanks. That's what I thought.

But then why does the 'item properties' state that the 'compressor' is DVCPRO HD 720p60?

Also, does any one know if you need to use Cinema Tools when editing 720/24p?

The "Compressor" is like the Codec, but not the frame rate. The frame rate is a different thing. So don't be concerned about the 60 in the name. Just make sure the editing timebase is 23.98 and you're doing fine.

Cinema Tools is for film or possibly if you want to conform 29.97 to 23.98. Other than that, you shouldn't need to use it.
