Hi all,
Apologies if this is covered in other posts. I've had a quick search the past couple days but haven't found the exact answer, so...
Start shooting a documentary this week that will 75% in-car. Will be shooting with 7D(s), and have the Zoom H4N arriving tomorrow.
Question is, if we can hide the Zoom close enough (only need to record one character's voice) will this be enough, or will we pickup too much atmospheric to be usable? Have potential access to borrow a Rode VideoMic, and a mystery lapel mic for a couple days, so we'll do a series of tests, but figure there's an easy answer floating out there. Obviously audio knoweledge is limited, to put it kindly. If there's another option in couple hundred dollar range that would make life infinitely easier, I'm all ears.
As far as process goes, was thinking we'd get away with just recording a bit of head and tail on the zoom, and syncing with 7D's in-camera audio wiyth something like plural eyes, and do away with any slating. Foolish?
Thanks in advance,
Jesse
