Setting white balance on GH2 when using 2700K CFL bulbs in daylight?

I will be shooting a scene tomorrow at 4:00 pm PST. I will have to light up an actor, who is in the shade and completely out of the sun, with 2700K CFL bulbs. 1,100 watts total. My question is, do I set the white balance on my GH2 to 2700K so that the CFL bulbs will appear the same color temp as 5000K daylight (neutral) and not yellowish orange? Will that work? And no, I can't light the actor with a reflector so, don't even suggest that. Thanks.

Not sure how setting the white balance on your camera one way or another will affect the output of your light source. You have to gel them (2/3 of your output gone) or get daylight balanced CFL's if you don't want there to be a difference.

1) Why is a reflector or bounce not an option?
2) 1,100 actual watts or are you talking "equivalent"?
3) What kinda CFL bulbs are you using?

I would suggest ditching them and trying to find some daylight bulbs.

Since you asked... so late... and I'm responding even later... wait till 4:30 and the sun may be 'golden enough' to match the CFL, or at least 'better match'...

And as a note... it is the footcandles landing on the subject that are important... listing the 'wattage' only suggests how much 'light' is falling on the subject... The shape of the fixture, reflector, bare bulb, what have you, will affect how much light is falling on the subject. "real" pro lights usually give such photometric data, that is footcandles at given distances, for a given lamp and fixture setup...
