setting up second screen in full resolution

How do you set-up the second monitor/display in full resolution in final cut pro? I only know how to arrange it so that it is dual display, but it does not fill the whol display with video, as y'all know.

Thank you.

Are you using a second display as a second computer monitor (extend your timeline, give yourself more space for bins/browser, etc.)? Or are you wanting your second display to be a fake broadcast monitor (you want it to see FCP's video out playback feed)? If it's the latter, I believe what you want to do is set your video playback in FCP to Desktop Cinema Display. Search around this forum, there's quite a few folks that use that setup and have discussed it here.

cheers.

I want my second display as a fake broadcast monitor. How do I do that? I didn't find it much in the forums.

Set your Video Playback option (View menu) or Audio/Video Controls window, to Apple Desktop Cinema Display option. There might be a couple of other settings involved with that, I'm not sure (never actually done it myself). Shane or Gunleik can hopefully chime in on that as I believe they're both familiar with the option. Good luck.

cheers.
