Setting up a production company

Hi there,
I want to set up a legal production company simply for the reason to legally purchase replica firearms for films and get all the permits sorted out. I know it may sound stupid but in England all guns are bright orange or whatever and its illegal to spray paint them to there original colour so I was wonder if the only option was to legally obtain replicas is to set up a production company.
 
You can hire replica fire arms in the UK i am sure! We use a kit rental company that also offers replica fire-arms..... I am not aware of any of the legal issues but i know it is possible.

I am sure if you make the police aware of your production and that you will be using replica's, then you may be okay...? Ask the rental company!

In your post you mentioned that you want to buy them... i would just rent them if you can because realistically, how many times are you going to use a certain type of gun in a film during your career...? It'll probably make more sense to rent when you need them

Brilliant help Finchy. I am only 17 so my Dad will be acting as the producer for my short so Ill get hom to have a look.
