Setting internet browser preference for hyperlinks in Word docs on a MAC?

Does anyone know how to set the internet browser preference in a MS Word document so that I can have hyperlinks open with the browser of my choice? I am using Microsoft Word 2008 for Mac, version 12.2.0 (090817) with a Mac Pro using OS X 10.6.8. Whenever I put a hyperlink into a word document it defaults to opening the link in Safari. I want it to open in Firefox. How can I do that? Thank you.

OK stoopid question...is Firefox your default system browser? Strangely you must set your default browser via the Safari preferences pane. I'm fairly certain MS Word just follows whatever the system default is.

Yeah, I had to go into Firefox to set it as the default browser. I figured that this would be a MS Word or Mac system preference, but it is a Firefox preference. I found it and got it set. Duuh!
