set VEGAS MPG2 as PROCODER 2

OK, thanks Jive and David.

Moje, I guess you are looking for lower bit rates than the 6 - 8 Mbps that the DVD render template provides. In my opinion, it is at low bit rates (below 5 Mbps) that Procoder stands out from some other encoders (including the MC encoder that comes with Vegas).

If you can live with 6 - 8 Mbps for your DVDs then there's probably no benefit in using Procoder at all, you might as well just stick to the Vegas render template. However, if you do need a low bit rate, I believe Procoder will do a better job at encoding the file. Also, since you won't be able to use the Vegas render template anyway for low bit rates (without changing the settings) I'd have thought there's just as much chance of making the output file non-compliant in Vegas as there is in Procoder.

As Spot says, you can frameserve from the Vegas timeline directly to Procoder, without having to render an intermediate file. You can download Satish's frameserver plugin from his website:

Good luck.
