Set Design Ideas for A Segment On Two Guys Reviewing A Movie

I have been thinking of constructing a similar segment to Cracked.com's After Hours Segment http://www.cracked.com/series/after-hours/ and I need help in brainstorming ideas . In the past I have tried to ask others or put an ad out in craigslist if any one has a interesting entertainment center that would make for a decorative set for our hangout for our gang of movie reviewers who jab fun at old B-action movies. That can be a hard of a task as it is to ask a stranger to allow another group of strangers to film in your home.

So I tried to go the route of finding some old retro café or restaurant location and many restaurant managers were very uneasy of the thought of us having our crew and equipment there during business hours.

I want to know is what would be other more practical set design locations to film a segment on a group of friends reviewing films.
 
Well, if you want a retro cafe or restaurant location, why not recreate one in you/your co-hosts homes? I understand the pain of not having a place where you can film anything, as it is really difficult, but really, all you need to do is to extinguish all your resources. I'm sure you and your co-hosts can do a little set rearrangement if you really want it.
 
If I was doing B-action movies I'd probably be looking at funky old garage spaces. Tools on the wall, an old auto, maybe a Sinclair sign and gas pump etc. Could be visually fun and a whole lot less intrusive.
