Set construction time

is it supposed to look expensive/high class? i thought 500/ 2 days or up to 5k/month would get you something good? but i thought the drama would be a bit darker and would benefit from a more run down place?1K-2K/month? are these prices realistic?

The apartment is supposed to be upper middle class. It's set on 54th street in NYC, right near Madison Avenue.

The apartment is where the older sister lives, she's left the family home to get away from the abuse. Amber and Diamond (the two lead characters) are running from the abuse at the family home to their sisters apartment. Basically the apartment is supposed to symbolize a better life (upper middle class, clean, modern). It's supposed to be pretty much night and day between the apartment and the family home.

The houses will be run down looking.

but that would make the set decoration/accessories/kitchen/furniture exponentially more expensive than a few $K. are you going to buy/rent/borrow/steal all that furniture? renting would include all that right?

just out of curiosity, is the 'symbolize a better life' the end of the film, or a good on the outside/hell on the inside, into the revelation before the resolution.
