Set chapter markers in arch 4

Hey everyone.

For some reason, after loading my audio and video files onto the timeline in architect 4 and making all of my menus, for some reason when I try to add markers for the various chapters of my project, NONE of the buttons in the Timeline window are active except for Set Loop Point, Enable Snapping and Quantize to Frames; none of the chapter marker buttons.

My question is: does anyone have any ideas on why they may be inactive? I'm really pressed for time right now and this is just irritating.

I'm not sure why that would be happening. Have you tried setting the chapter markers by just hitting the "M" key?
 
If you are trying to set the markers from the menu screen it won't work. Are you selecting the actual video event? double click on the video file you are wanting to add markers to and see if that doesn't solve the problem. Sorry if this sounds rudimentary but there have been times when I have overlooked something that simple.
 
That's a good idea, but no, I've been selecting the clip on the timeline and trying to add markers that way. When I drop the finished video piece to the timeline, none of the buttons above the timeline become active; they stay grey and un-clickable. I'll tinker around more tomorrow and see what I can switch around. This is getting irritating.
 
Hmmm. Don't know. Never had the problem.

Try opening a new test project, re-import it, and see if you still have the issue.
 
I'm having the exact same problem. I tried putting the clip into a new project, but it didn't help.

I have this problem using both .MPG and .AVI clips. I even made sure to export the .MPG from Vegas with markers in the right places and the option checked to set I-frames to the markers, and to save markers in the media file. STILL no luck.

Any help???
 
Okay, I've learned something....

If I just put a single clip into the DVD Architect project by doing "Insert/Media", then I'm able to add the chapter markers manually. The buttons are all available.

But if I insert a compilation and put media into that compilation, the buttons are greyed out and I can't insert chapter markers.

Weird....
