How does everyone like the software? Does it key out alot of stuff even with the DVX color sensitivity?

Am looking at it w/ dollar sign eyes!

Thanks

I think it is the best chroma software out there from my experience with it. A couple of months ago I posted a test in the 'other software' section using the worst greenscreen layout possible (not lighting the background, one hard light on my subject, subject 4" away from screen, screen was wrinkled, had folds, and huge shadows on it) and it did amazing for such an awfull test.

Anything that can deliver a result given that set up is amazing. Needless to say, I am a big fan of that software.

It sounds like you could have used the cool clean-up tools for chroma that Commotion provides.

I saw a few demos of really bad, almost unkeyable footage fixed in that program (even heads and hands hanging-off of the key area). Plus it includes it's own copy of Primatte keyer that seems to work well out of the box.

I don't know if it's available anymore, though.

I might have to try Serious Magic.

I like it a lot. Shot some 30p material recently with the DVX for a project that was heavy green-screen. Got very nice results. Early in post I decided to try Keylight in After Effects since I was doing a lot of compositing and animation anyway to see if I could get good results without even using Ultra. The results were... well, okay - barely. Pulled the same material into Ultra and bam! Looked tons better.
