Everytime I burn a 24p avi, or any other for that matter, the footage has a strobe like ghosting effect when people are moving. I'm using Premiere Pro 2.0 for capture and editing, and Encore 2.0. i've totally trouble shot everything I could, from field settings both during capture and export, to turning off frame blend, to removing 24p pulldown, etc. I used to use Premiere 6.0 for 24p, which captured everything at 29.97, and never had any problems with DVD playback. Footage always looked great as it did off of tape playback. So after also testing a capture using the project settings of 48 khz, regular DV 29.97, I noticed Premiere still recognizes that it came from a 24p source. And still when I burned a DVD, the ghosting was there. So my next test was using old 24p AVI files that I had captured a year ago with Premiere 6.0 and stored on a disc. I imported them into my DVD project, along with a newly captured Premiere Pro 2.0 24p file, and burned this disc off. The old footage looked as good as playback off the camera, and guess what, all new footage on the same disc had the ghosting. Does anyone know why this is? Is this possibly a capture card issue, or a problem with PP2? All my hardware is new, I just upgraded to a $2,000 Dell XPS 400 with all the fixings for graphics and video. Funny thing is I have no ghosting problem with DVD playback using regular old non-progressive video shot on my DVX100A. Looks great for that setting. Any help here much appreciated.
